Rigor Mortis (The Death In Between)

Imagine being the disciples.  Their Savior, their hero is dead!  It didn’t make any sense.  He was going to bring His Kingdom.  Everything He did or said was somehow on a different level than anything they have ever heard.  He was one step ahead at all times.  He knew how to avoid being destroyed.  Not to mention, to watch someone like Him be crucified.  Was this some type of cruel lesson?

The disciples have scattered, while Jesus’ body lies cold in the grave.  His body was prepared.  It was laid to rest.  Joseph of Arimathea and the women who prepared Him, felt His cold stiff body.  They experienced the hopeless sting of death.  How could death even get this man?

This is the day in between.  This is the day death appears to have victory.  This is the day where Jesus’s and Judas’s end looks the same.  This is the day of lifeless Rigor Mortis.  But, some how Sunday is on the way!
